food = happiness

people need food so why not enjoy something you need? i've never met someone that didn't have a favorite food, perhaps a comfort food that brings them a warm, calming feeling inside of them. a feeling of relief and satisfaction. a feeling of euphoria even. food is much like flowers - perishable, temporary and short lived. but isn't it strange how food can provide so much happiness to one person?

i have many comfort foods. these foods are special foods that i never get sick of. you know the food that's so damn tasty you always have room in your stomach for even when you're stuffed to the brim? well, one example for me is french fries (talk about lack of self control). these special foods bring me a happiness that oddly enough, nothing else can provide me.

i know this is the case with many people but i've noticed recently that i have an obsession for food. i wake up and one of the first things i think about is lunch. and if i have a bad meal, you can bet that i'll have a grumpy demeanor afterwards, definitely an unsatisfactory feeling. unfortunately, my hungry meter is very simple...not hungry or starving. so usually when i realize i want to eat, there's a small window before you have an unhappy camper on your hands. but as soon as i get to eat, i'm all smiles again! i tend to eat fast and you know what goes along with that...yes, overeating. it's a vicious roller coaster of emotions throughout the day i tell ya!

anyway, this past weekend was a bit of a chaotic one and at lunch today i was hungry for some happiness. i had one of my favorite foods. my team and i went to curry house and each got an order of the keema curry. delish! i allowed myself to overeat today because you know what? a little extra happiness never hurt anyone.

to weigh or not to weigh?

i always choose a locker by the scale and always contemplate whether to weigh myself or not. i usually resist the urge but mostly because i hate having to use one of these! granted, this kind of scale is most accurate but let's get with the times and get some electronic ones!

cotton candy

so, if you didn't know, i'm obsessed with getting cotton candy whenever i can. i don't have a sweet tooth but i think it has something to do with my mom never allowing me to have it. anyway, this marks a special day for me and cotton candy. the different colors actually represented various cotton candy flavors! if you're a cotton candy enthusist like me, you know the colors mean squat. but today, purple = grape, blue = blueberry. so awesome!

life is but a dream

row, row, row your boat,
gently down the stream.
merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily,
LIFE IS BUT A DREAM.

this is a special "shout out" post to a dear friend whom which i used to spend hours upon hours philosophizing with in our early college years. she recently checked out my moblog for the first time (didn't know anyone checked this thing!). this is basically just a tactic to have her keep checking this blog. this one's for you, blackstar.

today i'm left reminiscing of those good ole days of singing garbage's "when i grow up" while of course performing the routine we made up for that song. this is when i lived next door to a girl that bit the ends of her pillowcase, while i had my own crazy obsession with my pillowcase (not to be mentioned). it was meant to be! i clearly remember one philosophy session where we discussed how life seemed too strange to be true and how dreams were so real. that night, we decided that when our eyes were closed and we were "sleeping", we were living our real lives. when we were "awake", we were merely dreaming. it all made sense, especially since the matrix had just come out that year. it was a comfort to know that i wasn't the only crazy one. good times.
