people need food so why not enjoy something you need? i've never met someone that didn't have a favorite food, perhaps a comfort food that brings them a warm, calming feeling inside of them. a feeling of relief and satisfaction. a feeling of euphoria even. food is much like flowers - perishable, temporary and short lived. but isn't it strange how food can provide so much happiness to one person?
i have many comfort foods. these foods are special foods that i never get sick of. you know the food that's so damn tasty you always have room in your stomach for even when you're stuffed to the brim? well, one example for me is french fries (talk about lack of self control). these special foods bring me a happiness that oddly enough, nothing else can provide me.
i know this is the case with many people but i've noticed recently that i have an obsession for food. i wake up and one of the first things i think about is lunch. and if i have a bad meal, you can bet that i'll have a grumpy demeanor afterwards, definitely an unsatisfactory feeling. unfortunately, my hungry meter is very simple...not hungry or starving. so usually when i realize i want to eat, there's a small window before you have an unhappy camper on your hands. but as soon as i get to eat, i'm all smiles again! i tend to eat fast and you know what goes along with that...yes, overeating. it's a vicious roller coaster of emotions throughout the day i tell ya!
anyway, this past weekend was a bit of a chaotic one and at lunch today i was hungry for some happiness. i had one of my favorite foods. my team and i went to curry house and each got an order of the keema curry. delish! i allowed myself to overeat today because you know what? a little extra happiness never hurt anyone.
