Kilimanjaro!

i did it. i successfully climbed to the top of mt. kilimanjaro. our six day trek was quite an eye opening experience. it was definitely physically and mentally challenging mostly due to the high altitude but i enjoyed every second of it. words can't describe the feeling and emotion you have as you reach the summit. it was simply AMAZING. this is definitely going into the books as the hardest thing i've ever done so far. afterward, we headed over to zanzibar for some well deserved beach relaxation. time to plan my next adventure!

yosemite

pics of yosemite didn't mean much until i saw the valley for myself. the hikes we went on were no joke but worth every muscle ache.

chatty cathy

some people just talk too damn much. i ask, "how was the movie?" and he interprets it as, "give me a detailed summary about the movie please". i don't get it. some people just keep going without any feedback or follow up questions. in my mind, i'm expecting a 10 word response MAX but i get a 10 minute response? oh hell no. i feel like it's pretty obvious to know when a person is interested in lengthening the dialog and wants you to continue talking. you know, like having a conversation where all parties involved participate in the exchanging of words. if i'm not asking any follow up questions, i'm not interested in what you're saying so wrap it up already and land your plane. i get so annoyed mid speech that i can no longer hear them and can only think about how to escape this interaction. at this point i regret even asking in the first place! i walk away at the first chance i get and while i'm totally relieved, i feel sorta guilty for not being invested at all. but really, it's their fault! don't people get those social cues? had i asked one question just to be polite, well, that would instantly be an extra 10 minute commitment there. good grief!
